New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. Peters Catholic Church in New Iberia for Pamella Marie Dubois, 91 who died Saturday, January 30, 2010 in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mauoleum.
Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Aleta Lester, and Nicholas Broussard. Gift Bearers include Pam Whiteard and Michelle Branscum.
Born on July 15, 1918 in New Iberia, Ms. Dubois, affectionally known as Aunt Pup, retired from United Gas/Entex with over 30 years of service. An excellent seamstress, she was a member of the Homemaker Club and the Garden Club. She loved to travel having toured the United States, Canada, Alaska, and Cuba, and was the first woman to receive the President's Award for bowling. A Eucharistic minister, Aunt Pup loved going to daily Mass, and baking cakes for all of the priests, especially her cousin, Msgr. Disch.
Survivors include her nephews, Leon Dartez and wife Mary of New Iberia, Gene Dartez of New Iberia; nieces, Aleta Lester and husband Clayton of Baton Rouge, Pam Whiteard and husband Greg of Sulphur, Marie Fruge of Sulphur; brother-in-law, Lorraine Oubre of Sulphur; 14 great nieces and nephews; 11 great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis and Constance Pesson Dubois; sisters, Jeanne Dubois Oubre, Mildred Dubois Dartez; nieces, Joyce Oubre Appleby, and Constance Connie Oubre.
Pallbearers include Scott Dartez, Clayton Lester, Greg Whiteard, Gene Dartez, Stacy Broussard, and Bruce Branscum.
Honorary pallbeaers include Neil Dartez, Rene' Dartez, Austin Breaux, Michael Lester, Brett Fruge, Andy Dautreuil, Leon Dartez, Joshua Dartez, and Corey Romero.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
