New Iberia Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Pamella Lewis Hill, 62, who died on Friday, November 14, 2014 in New Orleans.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 7:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia.
Mrs. Hill was born on January 4. 1952 in Lafayette and was a longtime resident of New Iberia. She attended Southern University and was a retired teacher, having taught in Iberia Parish for many years. A member of the Congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, Mrs. Hill loved music, singing, teaching the Bible, and decorating. She was known wearing her hats, and had a special love for people. She never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Hill of New Iberia; children, Kendra Hill of New Iberia, Keasha Brown and husband Jason of Baton Rouge, Koddy Hill of New Iberia, Kenya Hill of Lafayette; grandchildren, Kaylon Batiste, Cory Batiste, Jr., Keilah Batiste, Kaley Jaye Brown; sisters, Sheryl Joseph Rideaux and husband Charles of New Iberia, Valdine Lewis and Felicia Lewis both of Lansing, MI; brothers, Shelby Joseph of New Iberia, Carl Michael Coleman and wife Sylvia, Mark Anthony Coleman, and Kenneth Wayne Coleman and wife Trina all of Houston, Texas; special nephew, Jerrell Slaughter of New Iberia; special cousin Gwen Polite Chretien of New Iberia; and also survived by Phillip Lewis of Lansing, MI.
She was preceded in death by her mothers, Audrey Coleman and Mabel Lewis; father, Eddie Lewis; daughter, Kelly Marie Hill; grandparents, Victoria Mama Lo C. Jones and Viola Patterson; and a brother, Christopher B. Coleman.
