New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patricia "Pat" Terrell Pharr, 75, at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia with Rev. Mark Derise officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, and continue on Friday from 10:30 AM until 1:30 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Thursday with a time for remembrance shortly after. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Mrs. Pharr passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mary Patricia "Pat" Terrell Pharr was born on August 26, 1941 to the late E.P. and Mildred Romero Terrell. She was a 1959 Graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy, and attended UL and LA College. She was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts, and taught Religion. She served on the Mt. Carmel Alumni Board, and was a member of Catholic High Booster Club. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whether playing tennis, going to a movie, or simply laughing and talking for hours. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them in any activity or event they were involved in. She especially loved to watch their sporting events and never missed a game. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on her face. She had a beautiful soul and always made others feel special. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, G.O. "Pete" Pharr; sons, Steven J. Pharr and wife Lisa of Alexandria, and Mark G. Pharr and wife Jodie of New Iberia; daughter, Kathy Maraist and husband David of Lafayette; grandchildren, Karlie Brister and husband Dustin of Alexandria, Rachel Pharr of Denham Springs, Peyton Pharr of New Iberia, Sarah Maraist of Lafayette, and Trey Maraist of Lafayette; and a daughter-in-law, Amy Pharr of New Iberia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Terrell Pharr; and a brother, E.P. Terrell, III. Pallbearers will be Steven J. Pharr, Peyton Pharr, Trey Maraist, David Maraist, Michael Pharr, and Timothy Terrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark G. Pharr and Roger Keese. In lieu of flowers and because of her steadfast support for Catholic High, memorial donations can be made to the Catholic High Endowment Fund, 1301 Delasalle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560.
