Patricia "Tish" Celestine Williams

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at St. Francis of Assisi in Breaux Bridge for Patricia “Tish” Celestine Williams, 70, who passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continue on Saturday from 7:30 am until 10:00 am. A rosary will be prayed on Friday at 6:00 pm. Rev. Ugochukwu Jerome Cletus, SSJ, will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Patricia Ann Celestine was born to the late Lillie Mae and Allen Celestine Sr. in Lafayette, LA on December 29, 1949. As the baby of the family, “Tish”, affectionately called by family and friends, grew up in Breaux Bridge, LA where she attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and later Carver High School. Upon graduating from Carver High School in 1967, Patricia attended Southern University and A&M College where she met the love of her life Johnny Williams Jr. In May 1972 she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southern University and on June 24th of the same year, married Johnny Williams Jr. They relocated to Houston, Texas where they began their family, having three children Patrice, Johnny, and Lilya Jenee’. Living a life of service, Patricia worked as a devoted Social Worker at Texas Department of Child Protective Services, long-term nursing home facilities, Texas Health & Human Services Commission, and DebLin Health Concepts. Patricia enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known as ‘The Life of the Party’. She strongly believed in family values, often opening her home to those in need and willing to give her last. To quote one of her nephews, “She was the most giving person we will ever know.” She is survived by her husband, Johnny Williams Jr.; her children Patrice W. Booker, Johnny Williams III, and Lilya Jenee’ Keeton (Joshua), all of Houston, Texas; her four grandchildren Deja Booker, Christopher Booker Jr., Jolie Keeton, and Jasmine Booker; her sister Mary L. Harper (James) of Garland, TX; maternal uncle, Abbey Phillips of Houston, Texas; sisters-in-law Verna Mae Celestine of Breaux Bridge, LA, Barbara Overby of Pass Christian , MS, and Germaine Payne of Carson, CA. She also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Lillie Mae and Allen Celestine Sr.; a brother, Allen Celestine Jr.; seven sisters, Genevieve Celestine, Aurelia Celestine, Vedia Batiste, Enola Sam, Rose Marie Celestine, Hazel Celestine, and Beverly Celestine; four nephews, Farrell Celestine, Kevin Sam, Ulysses Batiste Jr., and Randy Batiste; and two nieces, Sharon Francis and Charlene Potier.
