St. Martinville, Louisiana - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Patrick "Pat" Bourque, 74, who passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at his residence.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Thursday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Thursday by his brother-in-law, Deacon Perry Guidry.
Rev. Jason Vidrine will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Edolia Guidry and Don Guillaumin.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
On May 27, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul with the passing of Patrick Bourque. Born on February 13, 1950, Patrick lived a life filled with dedication, love, and profound connections with those around him.
Throughout his years of service at the International Paper Company, Patrick exemplified hard work and commitment in all that he did. His colleagues remember him as a diligent reliable individual who always gave his best.
Patrick's time in the United States Navy as a Communication Technician also highlighted his sense of duty and honor. His service to his country was a source of pride for him, reflecting his selflessness and willingness to put others before himself.
Beyond his professional achievements, Patrick will be fondly remembered for his quiet demeanor and loving nature. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. His family was truly the center of his universe, and he took immense joy in witnessing the success and happiness of his children.
In his leisure time, Patrick found peace in various hobbies that brought him joy. Whether it was spending time at the casino trying his luck, fishing in peaceful waters, cheering on his favorite sports teams, reading a good book, or relishing in family gatherings - each moment was cherished by him. Above all else, nothing brought him more happiness than sharing precious moments with his beloved grandson.
Patrick Bourque's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his children and their achievements in life. He dedicated himself wholeheartedly to ensuring their well-being and guiding them towards success. His legacy lives on through them as they carry forward the values he instilled in them.
He is survived by his spouse, Michele Bourque; daughter, Dusty (Phillip) Guillaumin; son, Peter Bourque; brother, Larry (Dale) Bourque; sisters, Edolia (Perry) Guidry and Peggy (Keith) Randazzo; sister-in-law, Laurie Bourque; grandchild, Gunnar Paul Guillaumin; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fabian and Antonia Dugas Bourque; brother, Jerry Bourque; nephew, Shawn Talley; father-in-law, Lawrence "Lloyd" Talley; and his mother-in-law, Mary D. Talley.
Pallbearers will be Larry Bourque, Bryan Bourque, Douglas Bourque, Lawrence Talley, Terry Talley, and Phillip Guillaumin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gunnar Guillaumin, and his son, Peter Bourque.
