Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Pat, Soul Brother, Patamatic, Paw Paw, and Daddy are just a few of the names he was called, not to mention the many hats he wore. He was a leader in the community, a volunteer youth coach, a business man, a grandfather, uncle, brother, and a father. Pat had a warm and kind heart who had a great love for people. In his lifetime, he had several businesses. Pat never met a stranger, and his outgoing personality and love for others allowed him to stay in business for over 30 years. He managed the Davis One-Stop and the Gypsy Club, but his business of his lifetime was Davis Disco Lounge. Pat had great pride in his business, which he built from the ground up. He proudly ran his business until his health wouldn't allow any longer. Many DJ's, Zydeco artists and supporters, past and present, visited his club. His number one fan and supporter was Jedadyha O'Neal Jones, who faithfully helped him around the club. Jed looked up to him as a father and Pat took him under his wing as a son. Pat also loved sports which he gladly volunteered his time to help anyone who wanted to learn. He sponsored and coached a coed softball teams and also a men's baseball team. He also sponsored two social groups: Kountry Bunnies and Front Street Riders, which he supported 100%. He had fun shooting pool every day and last but not least, family was everything to him and he loved all of them dearly. Pat enjoyed spending time with everyone during family gatherings and functions. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his kind heart and gentle ways will never be forgotten. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to St. Joseph Hospice for the care and love they shared. Special thanks to Kirk Zenon for grooming his hair and his caregiver, Denise Wiltz for a tremendous job with our dad. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Beverly Mae Aubrey Davis; sons, Marvin Davis and wife Lydia, Kenneth Davis and wife Pam, Edmond Davis, and Dennis Davis; daughters, Hazel Smith, Geneva Brown and husband James, Geraldine Walker and husband Floyd, Denise Wiltz, and Mary Agnes Davis and husband Patrick Calais; brothers, Nesly Davis and wife Genevieve, and Wesly Davis; 27 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and a special family friend, Jed Jones.
