Patsy Boudreaux

New Iberia – A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Patsy Bennett Boudreaux, 88, who passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. 

Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.

Visitation will Wednesday, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 2:00 pm Wednesday.

A native of New Orleans, Mrs. Boudreaux was born on March 12, 1936, to the late Forrest and Mae Patin Bennett. She was raised in Lansing, Iowa and lived there for many years before moving back to her home state of Louisiana. A 1974 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana Lafayette, Mrs. Boudreaux received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She worked for the Iberia Parish School System as an elementary teacher and librarian for 26 years. She loved her students and would always go the extra mile to help them.

Mrs. Boudreaux enjoyed camping, working puzzles, computer games, playing cards, going to the casino. She especially loved her family and hosting holiday events, where she would cook delicious meals for everyone. Patsy had a special family recipe for homemade chicken noodle soup that everyone in the family would help prepare. 

Survivors include her children, Penny Boudreaux Smith and Godfrey “Butch” Boudreaux, Jr. (Janelle); grandchildren, Brooke Boudreaux, and Leslie Normand (Mark); great grandchildren, Jolie Ellen Normand and Evie Kate Normand; siblings, Ann Bennett Broussard, Ellen Jane Bennett Boudreaux, Barbara Bennett Broussard, Forrest Bennett, Jr., and Earl James Bennett (Cindy).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Boudreaux, Sr.; a sister, Tammy Lynn Bennett; and a brother-in-law, Leo Boudreaux.
