Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Cecilia for Paul Aldus Huval, 70, who passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at his residence, in DeQuincy.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Cecilia.
Rev. Fr. Paul Broussard, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Mason Coats and Stevie Huval. Gift bearers will be Abby, Allyson, Peyton, and Parrish Huval, Ian Coats, and Gaven Calais. Musical selections will be provided by his brother, Leo "Pope" Huval.
Mr. Huval was a native of Cecilia and a resident of DeQuincy for many years. He was a veteran of the United
States Air Force, having honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Huval was in the finance business for 22 years before going to work in sales with Zummo Meats. He enjoyed watching all sports and loved cooking for the church, his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Yvonne Calais Huval, of DeQuincy; two daughters, Lisa H. Coats and her husband, Morris, of Thibodaux, Tina H. Calais and her husband, Ronnie, of Breaux Bridge; four sons, Jude Huval and his wife, Becky, of St. Louis, MO, Gregg Huval and his wife, Susan, of Austin, TX, Tim Huval, of Phoenix, AZ, and Ben Huval, of Cecilia; one sister, Nita H. Champagne, of Parks; four brothers, Fred Huval, of Cecilia, William "Bill" Huval and Patrick Huval, both of Parks, and Leo "Pope" Huval, of Cecilia; 14 grandchildren, Garrett and Grant Calais, Kelsie, Mason, and Ian Coats, Colette, Abby, Raylea, Regan, Peyton, Parrish, Stevie, Taylor, and Allyson Huval; 1 great grandchild, Gaven Calais; and 3 God children, Tommy Huval, Rowdy Huval, and Kendall Dufrene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aldus and Helen Guidry Huval; and one brother, O'Neil "Ben" Huval.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be his four sons, Jude, Gregg, Tim and Ben Huval, two sons-in-law, Morris Coats and Ronnie Calais, and Vin Dufrene.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray LeVergne, Francis Wilson, and Bill Baker.
