Paul “Polo” Laine Jr. was a dedicated and hardworking man whose passion for his family and hobbies touched the lives of many. He was born in Franklin, Louisiana on October 3, 1953, to the late Paul L. Laine Sr. and Lena Brettel Laine.
Paul was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his career. He was the former owner of Paul Laine Company, specializing in welding and heavy construction. Additionally, he dedicated many years as a valued employee at M. Matt Durand, LLC, where his skills shone brightly.
Paul had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. He found joy in building and riding motorcycles, as well as in restoring engines and classic cars. A passionate gun enthusiast, he embraced the time spent at the shooting range, and he loved reloading his own ammunition.
However, above all else, Paul had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he cherished every moment spent with them.
Mr. Laine is survived by his daughter, Joy Laine Richard and her husband, Lane; Danny Fields Jr. and his wife, Lennie; grandchildren, Taylor Grow and her husband, Brian, Ashlyn Hebert and her husband, Tommy, Erica Fields, Addison Fields, Lucy Richard, and Liam Richard; great-grandchildren, Benit Grow, Royce Grow, Reid Hebert III, Waylon Hebert, and Reba Hebert; siblings, Carolyn, Kathleen and Johnny; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Desormeaux Laine; and siblings, Jeffrey Michael Laine and Linda Wimberly Albert.
May Paul rest in peace knowing that he touched the hearts of many with his dedication and love.
