New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Paul D. LeBlanc, Jr., 79, who passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Entombment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Deacon Keith Duhon will officiate.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm Tuesday at Pellerin Funeral Home.
Paul D. LeBlanc, Jr., a beloved pharmacist who devoted his life to serving others, was born on February 29, 1944, in Jeanerette, Louisiana.
From an early age, Paul demonstrated a deep curiosity and love for medicine. He pursued his passion by attaining a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, becoming a highly respected professional in the field. His expertise and caring nature made him an invaluable member of the healthcare community. Throughout his career, Paul contributed his skills to various pharmacies in the area. He diligently served at Taylor's, Delaune's, and Winn-Dixie pharmacies, touching the lives of countless community members with his expertise and warm demeanor. His commitment to providing excellent care was evident in every interaction he had with customers.
Beyond his professional achievements, Paul was a devoted family man who found great joy in spending time with loved ones. He and his late wife, Patricia, embarked on many adventures together, embracing their shared love for travel. Whether exploring new destinations or revisiting cherished places from their past, Paul and Patricia created precious memories that will forever be treasured.
Paul had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought him immense happiness throughout his life. An avid woodworker, he reveled in creating beautiful pieces with his skilled craftsmanship. He also found solace in the calmness of nature. Duck hunting, fishing, and camping allowed him to connect with the outdoors while enjoying solitude or cherished moments shared with family and friends.
Mr. LeBlanc had a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He relished in their company and could often be found laughing and splashing around with them in the pool. The depth of his love for family was immeasurable, and he created a warm and nurturing environment for all those he held dear.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his children, Tabitha Erickson (Mark), Blair LeBlanc (Allison), and Nicole Bertrand (Michael II); grandchildren, Christina Smith (James), Brittany Landry (Casey), Jennifer Maillet, Scott Maillet (Ashley), Bradley Maillet, Jean-Paul LeBlanc, Caleb LeBlanc, Lucas LeBlanc, Alyssa Bertrand, and Michael Bertrand III; 12 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); and his beloved golden retriever, Sandy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Simoneaux LeBlanc; twin daughters, Leah and Lisa LeBlanc; sister, Louise LeBlanc Charpentier; brother-in-law, Harvey Charpentier; and his parents, Paul Dinkey LeBlanc, Sr. and Emma Belle Darce LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Scott Maillet, Jean-Paul LeBlanc, Caleb LeBlanc, Lucas LeBlanc, Michael Bertrand III, Hunter Landry, and Theodore Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Bertrand II, Mark Erickson, and Casey Landry.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Garden View Assisted Living; Hospice of Acadiana, especially Kent Kramer; and loving caregivers, Trula, Cheryl, Connie, Arianna, Bethany and LaToya, for extraordinary care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Go Gold Scholarship Fund at Catholic High School; or Hospice of Acadiana.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember his gentle spirit, kind heart, and the indelible impact he made on our lives. May he rest in peace.
