Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Paul Thomassee, 79, who passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm on Friday A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm on Friday by Deacon Ken Soignier. Fr. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Paul loved fishing, hunting, playing softball, and doing anything that involved the outdoors. He was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers football team and he loved watching them play. Paul loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pamela M. Thomassee; son, Paul (Lisa) Thomassee of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Marie Kathleen (Andres Garcia, Companion) Chapa and Kim (Tom Tinker) Karstrom of Pearland, TX; six grandchildren, Tina Chapa, Somer Brown, Chelsea Donez, Dwayne Chapa, Danielle Flores, and Ashlynn Karstrom; five great grandchildren, Isaiah Chapa, Izavier "Bubba" Chapa, Hannah Barboza, Layla Flores, and Israel Chapa; brother, Carrol Thomassee of Dayton, TX; and two sisters, Georgia Boutte of New Iberia and Laida Berard of Cecilia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Amanda Angelle Thomassee, Sr.; great grandchild, Izack Chapa; four brothers, Ernest Thomassee, Louis Thomassee, Jr., Nolan Thomassee, and Gerald Thomassee; and two sisters, Lilly Zeringue and Sue Guidry.
