Paula "Mom-Mee" Chevalier

Breaux Bridge- A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Paula "Mom-Mee" Alex Chevalier, 82, who passed away at the Carpenter House.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM to  8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 7:00 AM until Service Time.

Her son-in-law, Pastor James Gaines of Word of God Church in Breaux Bridge will officiate at the funeral service.

Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.

Paula "Mom-Mee" Alex Chevalier was born February 14, 1940, to the late Arthur and Octavia Alex in Breaux Bridge. She departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Carpenter House where she was surrounded by her loving family.

Paula was a member of the Word of God Church in Breaux Bridge, under Pastor James Gaines, she was also Baptized in Jesus’ Name.  Paula enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the hair salon, talking on the phone, shopping, but most of all she loved to praise and worship God.

She leaves to cherish her memory 4 sons, James "Jim" Chevalier (Jonella), Darnell Chevalier (Niea), Donavon Chevalier (Dana), and Arthur Chevalier (Shunda); 5 daughters, Mary Ann Logan (Kenny), Dorothy Chevalier, Zenobia Gaines (James), Deneen Chevalier (Erving), and Tanny Chevalier; 1 brother, John Alex; 35 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ivy Chevalier; parents, Arthur and Octavia Derousselle Alex; 4 sisters, Beulah Cormier, Evelyn Goodie, Hilda Broussard and Eva Enard; 3 brothers, Harold Alex, Anthony Alex and Harris Alex; and 2 grandchildren, Tiffany Babineaux and Terri Lynn Chevalier.

Pallbearers will be John Ray Chevalier, Darnell Chevalier, Jr., James Gaines, Jr., Tricky Chevalier, Emile Chevalier, Jason Babineaux, Lil George Chevalier, and Cody Chevalier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darnell Chevalier, James "Jim" Chevalier, Auther Chevalier, Donvon Chevalier, John Alex, Wilfred Chevalier, Chester Chevalier, and Steven Alex.

The family would like to give thanks for all of your acts of kindness, phone calls, visits, and most importantly prayers.  Special thanks extendedly to St. Joseph Hospice and Health and Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
