St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Paula Girouard Greig, 95, who passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Maison de Lafayette.
Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate in the Funeral Mass. The Con-Celebrant will be her great nephew, Rev. Sinclair Oubre.
Mrs. Greig loved to cook for her family and friends and also enjoyed sewing. She loved to work in her yard and sit on her front porch where she could admire the beauty of nature.
Survivors include her children, Marianne Chauffe and her husband, Curtis, of Cut Off, Maxine Harris and her husband, Donald, of Lafayette, Richard Louis Greig and his wife, Christine, of Seattle Washington, and Karl Anthony Greig and his wife, May Dell, all of St. Martinville; 13 grandchildren, Ren Bodoin, Suzanne Tullia, Desir Hebert, Mitzy Savoie, Greig Chauffe, Kristen Alvarado, and Ericka Stanley; and 13 great grandchildren and nunerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Greig; her parents, Ovignac and Annaise Berard Girouard; three brothers, Sydney, Jenaious and Lucien Girouard; four sisters, Lilia Landry, Eula Broussard, Anaise Bernard, and Nellie Oubre; a grandson, Curtis Chauffe, II; and a great granddaughter, Linsey Chauffe.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and residents of Maison de Lafayette for their care and compassion given to their mother.
