New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Peggy Ann Gachassin, 64, who died Thursday, March 8, 2012 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jude Thierry will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 11:30 AM until 9:00 PM atPellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 7:00 AM until 9:30 AM . Born on March 29, 1947 , Ms. Gachassin was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . She enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Gachassin of New Iberia; sons, Charles Hebert and Julia Martin of Baytown, Texas, Chad McClendon and wife Tammy of New Iberia, Ray McClendon and wife Monica of New Iberia; daughter, Jacqueline McClendon and Jay Ray of New Iberia; brothers, Don Gachassin of Beaumont, Texas, Oris Gachassin and wife Nancy of New Iberia; sister, Delores Henstichel and husband Clarence of Port Arthur, Texas; adopted family Phyllis Allen and Jade Salazar of New Iberia; 7 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her father, Horace Gachassin; and a godchild, Monica Gachassin. Pallbearers will be Charles Hebert, Chad McClendon, Ray McClendon, Kaleb McClendon, Don Gachassin and Lane Thibodeaux. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
