Peggy Guidry

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Peggy LeBlanc Guidry, 74, who passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015, in Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 7:00 am until 12:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm on Tuesday by Deacon Ken Soignier. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Peggy was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cecilia. She enjoyed decorating with her friends during the holiday seasons, watching HGTV, working in her yard planting her flowers that brought her joy as they bloomed, and sharing her oranges with her friends and neighbors. Peggy's pride and joy in life were her three grandchildren and her granddaughter-in-law, whom she loved unconditionally. Peggy spent most of her life caring for those who were ill while she was employed with Dr. Louis Weinstein. She was also employed by Farmers and Merchants Banks for several years. She is survived by her son, Clint Guidry and wife Nancy of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Tina Blanchard and husband Keith of Cecilia; her grandchildren, Trey Blanchard and wife Brittany of Cecilia, Trevor Blanchard of Cecilia, and Lydia Guidry of Breaux Bridge; and her sister, Pam Thomassee and husband Elrod of Breaux Bridge. She was preceded in death by husband of 49 years, Roy Joseph Guidry; her parents, Antoine "Kaiser" and Lydia Guidry LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Clint Guidry, Trey Blanchard, Trevor Blanchard, Keith Blanchard, Perry Belaire, and Chad Calais. Honorary pallbearers will be Curley LeBlanc, Travis Boudreaux, Calvin Boudreaux, Gus Guidry, and Elrod Thomassee Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia, 2238 Bushville Hwy., Cecilia, Louisiana 70521, (337-667-6464) is in charge of arrangements.
