Perry Joseph Robertson

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Perry J. Robertson, Sr., 66, who passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Friday. Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Perry was born in Lafayette to the late Lawrence and Edna Prade Robertson, Sr. He enjoyed building things and being a handyman. Perry worked at Prade TV for 25 years and served at Notre Dame Catholic Church as a maintenance technician for four years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 43 years, Christine Francis Robertson; son, Perry Joseph Robertson, Jr.; daughter, Shelley Sherisse Robertson; brothers, Roland Robertson, Collins Robertson and wife Lois, Edward Robertson, Jimmy Robertson and wife Shirley, Patrick Robertson, Jackie Robertson and wife Hattie, Ricky Robertson, Daniel Robertson and wife Christine, and John Paul "Boogie" Robertson; sisters, Theresa Nelson and Jacqueline Thomas and husband Jesse; and uncle, Webster Robertson and wife Verna. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dwayne Lamar Robertson; brother, Lawrence "L.J." Robertson, Jr.; sister, Charlene Horton; sisters-in-law, Leeanna and Alzena Robertson; aunts, Pearl, Ismay, and Doris Prade, Doris Broussard, Louise Market, Gal Bloom, Margie Peters, Nola Cennace, and Iola Robertson; uncles, William "Bill", Howard and Caldwell Prade, and Albert, Anderson, Clarence, Janice, and Louis Robertson; nephew, David Robertson; and cousins, Louis, Jr., Bobby, and Kenna Prade. Pallbearers will be Collins, Edward, Jackie, Ricky and John Paul "Boogie" Robertson, and Jesse Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland, Jimmy, Patrick and Daniel Robertson, and Scody Prade.
