Lydia - A Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 7 , 2006, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia ?for Philip E. Delahoussaye, Sr., 86, who died Monday, September 4, 2006.
Entombment will be in Patoutville Cemetery in Patoutville, LA.
Fr. Donovan Labbe of St. Nicholas Catholic Church will be the Celebrant and Fr. Aaron Melancon will Con-Celebrate.
A native and life long resident of Grand Marais, Mr. Delahoussaye died at his residence due to a brief illness.
Mr. Delahoussaye was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II in Burma, India. ?He was a retired school bus driver with the Iberia Parish School Board, a security guard for the Navy Base and GSRI. ?He enjoyed working in his garden, woodworking, and giving his lawn a manicured appearance.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Aline (Sis) Delahoussaye of Grand Marais; one son, Philip Delahoussaye, Jr., and his wife, Maria of Grand Marais; two daughters, Lorita Cruz and her husband, John and Carol Little and her husband, Elridge, Sr., all of Grand Marais; ten grandchildren, Elridge Little, Jr., Cheri Little, Angi Little, Joani Little, John Philip Cruz, Ebony Cruz, Nicole Delahoussaye, D.J. Delahoussaye, Tennille Giometti, Ross Delahoussaye; ten great grandchildren, Jasmine Little, Logan Little, Londyn Little, Bethany Cruz, Gabrielle Delahoussaye, Chloe Delahoussaye, Korie Hill, Elijah Broussard, Malika Broussard, and Jamilynn Quibodeaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tannas and Eugenia Jeanminette Delahoussaye; and his sons,
David Delahoussaye, Sr. and Harold Delahoussaye.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, from 8:00 AM until time of service at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, in Lydia.
A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM Thursday.
