Phillip 'Whip' A. Lamperez

New Iberia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Phillip Anthony "Whip" Lamperez, 50, who passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 am until 9 pm on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Garret Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Phillip, better known as Whip to his family and friends, lived for his work and enjoyed all the moments he spent in the oilfield industry. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Phillip loved spending time with his family and friends, but most especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Kay Romero Lamperez of New Iberia; two sons, Coty Romero and wife, Priscilla, and Drey Romero and fiance, Cassidy McDaniel, all of Youngsville; two brothers, Tommy Lamperez and wife, Tammy, and Richard Daigle and wife, Monica, of all of New Iberia; two sisters, Barbara Derouen and husband, Mark, of Coteau, and Sherry Lamperez and fianc, Loren Romero, of St. Martinville; and four grandchildren, Chloe, Cohen, Camden, and Cole Romero. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doris Lamperez, Sr. and Loretta Daigle Lamperez; two brothers, Doris "D.J." Lamperez, Jr. and Dave Lamperez; his sister, Shelia Lamperez; his nephew, Cordel Lamperez; and his grandparents, Gilbert Joseph Daigle and Lucette Guidry Daigle and Lovencie and Lovia Meyers Lamperez. Pallbearers will be Coty Romero, Drey Romero, Ken Rich, Gil Lamperez, Blake Daigle, and Gregory Vedrine. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Daigle, Opie Breaux, Phil Cartimiglia, David Krepper, Kalem Romero, Johnny Melancon, and Gerald Lopez.
