Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Philomene L. Tauzin, 91, who passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, by Kathleen Guidry.
Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia.
Philomene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her hobbies included crocheting, baking, and shopping. She enjoyed listening to music, watching "The Waltons" and Lifetime movies, eating out, going to the casino, and spending time with her family and friends. Philomene loved her great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She spent quality time with her daughter, Sandra, showing her how to bake her special cakes, cookies, and fudge for Christmas. Although she had difficulty standing and walking, she still wanted to be there to share those precious moments with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Tauzin and Priscilla Deville and husband Mike; son, James "Butch" Barron and wife Joann; brother, Eric Leger and wife Elsie; 6 grandchildren, Kelly Dugas, Tonya D Guidroz, Nicole Hallman, Mia Vasquez, Bryan Barron, and Kevin Barron; 14 great grandchildren, Gaige and spouse Hailey, Gabrielle, Presley, and Liam Dugas, Sara Judice, Trista Guidroz, Chloe Robichaux, Hayden and Makynlee Vasquez, Elizabeth, Victoria, Ashton, Allyson, and Jacob Barron.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wilton Tauzin; her first husband, Lee Barron; her parents, Andrew and Ida Mott Leger; brothers, Jack, Warren, Dave, and Albert Leger; and sisters-in-law, Margaret and Marie Leger.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Dugas, Gaige Dugas, Mitch Leger, Kevin Kidder, Timothy Johnson, and Harry Leger.
Honorary pallbearers will be her brother, Eric Leger, and her great grandson, Liam Dugas.
