Priscilla Ann Douet Martin

Parks A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Priscilla Ann Douet Martin, 59, who passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Tuesday and continue at 8:00 am until 10:15 am on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Karen Martin and Radonna Aymond. Gift Bearers will be Melissa Douet and Adria Douet. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Priscilla was an animal lover, especially caring for her canine companions. She loved yard work and taking care of her flowers. She enjoyed bowling with her husband and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Michael D. Martin; her brothers, Nolan Douet and his wife, Vienna, and Al Douet and his wife, Lelia; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Alex Douet, Sr.; her mother, Esther Champagne Douet; and one nephew. Pallbearers will be Al Douet, Darren Douet, Robert Martin, David Martin, Gentry Garrett, and Landon Douet. Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Douet, Ryan Martin, Carol Berard, Jackie Guidry, Nan Laviolette, Brenda Douet, Joan Guidry, and Cheryl Lasseigne. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Dr. Debra Johnson and the staff at The Cancer Center of Acadiana, Dr. Dani Bidros and his staff at Lafayette Brain and Spine, the 7th floor ICU nurses and staff at Lafayette General Medical Center, and the caregivers and nurses at Hospice of Acadiana, for the care and loving understanding given to Pris during her 3 year battle with cancer.
