New Iberia - Ray C. Simmons passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 8, 2018. He was 85. Ray was born in Brockton, Massachusettes on July 25, 1932 to the late James Curtis and Irene Conefry Simmons. He worked as a Pipeline Technician in the Gas Production Industry until his retirement in 2017. Ray enjoyed fishing, golfing, and drinking beer with his friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Simmons of New Iberia; daughter, Cathy Simmons of Jeanerette; sons, Ray Simmons and wife Dawn of Jeanerette, Chase Simmons and wife Khanxay of New Iberia; brothers, Wesley and Paul Simmons, both of Massachusettes; sixteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Curt Simmons; and a sister, Ruth McDonald.
