Raylon "Ray Pay" Mason

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Raylon "Ray Pay" Mason, 22, who passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. 

A visitation will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Saturday. 

Fr. Marvin Gyasie S.V.D. will officiate at the funeral mass. 

Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery. 

Raylon was born on June 7, 2000, in Lafayette.  "Ray Pay" was a 2018 graduate of Louisiana Christian School.  He enjoyed shopping, playing video games, and was an avid basketball player.  

He is survived by his mother, Racquel Charles; father, Johnathan Mason; siblings, Kartez Charles, Royell Joseph and A'Zoreyun Joseph; grandparents, Rachael "Isaac Dexter" Thomas, Steven James Charles, Sr., Janice (Mark) Batiste and Jeffery Malveaux; great-grandparents, George (Janalle) Malveaux and Julia Mason; aunts and uncles, Marvis Mason, Tammy Mason, Steven James Charles, Jr., and Malik Charles. 

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mary (Joseph) George, Mary (Lennet) Charles, and Hayman Mason. 

Pallbearers will be Cornell Gedward, Deandre Gedward, Damonte Gardner, Malik Charles, Cedric George, and Jazz Clayton.
 
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnathan Mason, Steven J. Charles, Sr., Steven J. Charles, Jr., Marvin Mason, Isaac Dexter Thomas, Mark Batiste, Peter George, Nolton George, Jeffery Malveaux, George Malveaux, and Jody Guilliam.
