Jeanerette – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 17, 2021, at St. John Catholic Church in Jeanerette, for Raymond James Buteau, Sr. , 75, who passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, in LafayetteRev Alexander Albert we be the CelebrantInterment will be in the Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday. Services will continue Monday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm.A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Mr. Buteau was born on July 3, 1945 to the late Edwin Buteau, Sr. and Marion Legnon Buteau, and had worked in the oilfield for several years. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of the Jeanerette Masonic Lodge No. 255, a member of the Shriners, and was a past Master and Past Sovereign Grand Conductor of the Oddfellows. Mr. Buteau volunteered at Iberia Medical Center and the Iberia Parish Tourist Bureau. An avid LSU Football and Baseball fan and outdoormans, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching western movies. He is survived by his wife, Doretha Buteau of New Iberia; two sons, Raymond James Buteau Jr. (Lauren Alexis) of New Iberia and Cory Buteau (Nicole) of Jeanerette; daughter, Kristy Hebert (Quentin) of New Iberia; sister, Audrey Derouen (Eddie) of Jeanerette; brother, Ricky Buteau Sr. (Faye) of Jeanerette; eight grandchildren, Amber Buteau Ryan, Hailey Ann Buteau, Cory Buteau, Jr., Courtney Buteau, Katelyn Hebert, Hunter Hebert, Aiden Hebert, and Nathan Hebert; two great grandchildren, Ashton Ryan, Jr. and Kelsey Ryan.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six brothers, Lambert Buteau, Howard Buteau, Allen Buteau, Edwin Buteau, Jr., Curris Buteau, and Ray Buteau, Sr. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace, New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331<iframe class="ts_player" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/BQJR59JZ97TZFK4M" width="512"></iframe>
