Raymond Kidder

Cecilia- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Raymond Kidder, Jr., 82, who passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Fr. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral service. Gifts will be presented to the Altar by Cameron and Conner Pellerin. Mr. Kidder was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having honorably served his country from 1945 - 1947. Known as 'Jack-of-All-Trades' who could fix just about anything, Raymond had a passion for doing carpentry work, specializing in swings and numerous outdoor items. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending time with his family and friends. Raymond was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Rose, celebrating 60 beautiful years of marriage in December, and was an admired and respected father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Rose Trahan Kidder of Cecilia; his daughter, Cindy Kidder Wood and her husband, Al, of The Woodlands, TX; two brothers, Bruno Kidder of Lafayette, and Glenn Kidder and his wife, Chris, of Jackson, MS; four sisters, Delta Gillard of Lafayette, Betty Quebedeaux and her husband, Leo, of Arnaudville, Jane Broussard and her husband, Joseph, and Rose Duhon, all of Duson; four grandchildren, Lindsay Pellerin and her husband, Chad, Allison, Myles, and Victoria Wood; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Conner Pellerin ;and his two sisters-in-law, Lou Kidder and Enna Kidder. He was preceded in death by his son, Errol James Kidder; his parents, Raymond and Leah Hollier Kidder, Sr.; three brothers, Wilbert, Harris, and Lee Allen Kidder; and one sister, Mildred K. Miller. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Myles Wood , Chad Pellerin, Bruno Kidder, Glenn Kidder, Michael Gillard, and Dwayne Quebedeaux. Pellerin Funeral Homeof Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
