Raymond Touchet

Coteau - Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Raymond Touchet,79, who passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am. Chaplain Shelton Clay will be the Officiant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. A lifelong resident of Coteau, Raymond Touchet was born on October 20, 1938 to the late Maurice Touchet and Louisiana Bourque Touchet. He worked for Bruce Foods/Soileau's for 25 years, and owned and operated Touchet's Trucking for 20 years. He loved Cajun music, and was a member of CFMA. He had racehorses, and worked with his father and his siblings at Touchet's Racetrack in Coteau. Mr. Touchet is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Jane Lopez Touchet; daughters, Debra Ann Touchet of Coteau, and Donna T. Roy and husband Denton of Orangefield, TX; sons, Teddy Ray Touchet and wife Debra of Coteau, and Tonny Raymond Touchet and wife Kelli of Broussard; adopted son, John Michael Chauvin and wife Gretchen of New Iberia; brothers, Shirley Louviere and Cerman Touchet, both of Coteau; a sister, Leona Bonin and husband Roger of Coteau; grandchildren, Brock Menard, Gerid Menard and wife Jessica, Justin Menard and wife Jamie, Dawn Derouen and husband Nick, Danielle Boutte and husband Dougie, Taylor Touchet and companion Shawn, Dillon Breaux and wife Ashley, Khandi Breaux and companion, Colby, Britney Lyons and husband James, Zachary Roy and wife Erica, Tyler Touchet, Kyla Touchet, Kelsey Casteel, Kamryn Casteel, Jordan Chauvin and Jessie Chauvin; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-laws David Lopez and wife Gail, and Minos Delahoussaye; sisters-in-laws, Merline Romero, and Audrey Fremin and husband Leeward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Delahoussaye, a grandchild, Leesha Roy, in-laws, Dudley and Viola Lopez, brother-in-law, Paul Romero, and a sister-in-law, Annalee Louviere. Pallbearers will be Brock Menard, Gerid Menard, Justin Menard, Dillon Breaux, Tyler Touchet, and Bryce Derouen. They will be escorted by great-grandson, Airman First Class Jerin Menard. Honorary pallbearers are all of the great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Heart of Hospice for excellent care, especially Amanda, Brittney, Rachel, Heidi, Lisa, Shelton and Alyson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of Hospice, 1100 Bertrand Dr. Suite A, Lafayette, LA 70506. Also, special thanks to Gulotta's for your kindness.
