Rebecca Velker-Hogue

Okinawa Japan - Memorial Services will be held in June for Rebecca Joy Velker-Hogue, 25, who passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013. After graduating from Kadena HS, Okinawa, Japan, Rebecca and her twin sister, Angela attended Discipleship Training School (DTS), Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Taiwan. They also attended the School of Biblical Studies (SBS). DTS included mission outreach to Cambodia and mainland China. She then stayed on to staff SBS. Her total time with YWAM missions was 2 years. She married Vincent Hogue, June 27th, 2009. In August 2009 she entered Liberty University as a freshman. Her husband, who had taken a break to do DTS in Taiwan, resumed his sophomore year at Liberty. He graduated in May 2012 and took a job in Houston, TX. Rebecca joined him in December 2012, completing her final semester on-line. She is survived by her father, John Lee Velker of Okinawa, Japan; her mother, Yoon Sook Kim ;of Okinawa, Japan; her husband, Vincent Hogue of Pearland, TX; her twin sister, Angela (Alejandro) Pena of Oceanside, CA; and her sister, Esther Velker of Okinawa, Japan.
