Remy Melancon

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 10, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Remy Melancon, 97, who passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Bryce Sibley, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Survivors include one son, Clayton Melancon; two daughters, Lydia Melancon and Cecile Melancon, all of Breaux Bridge; and one sister, Maydel Pelliter, of Loreauville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Odette Frederick Melancon; his parents, Ambrois and Cecile Champagne Melancon; and two sisters, Marie Lasseigne and Adolphina Bienvenue. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
