Rhella Borres

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Rhella 'Rae' Borres, 79, who died Thursday, October 25, 2012, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. William Gearheard will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A native of Delcambre, Mrs. Borres was born on January 22, 1933 to Laodis and Adorestine Freyou Champagne. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Rickey Borres, Sr., Brian Borres, Sr. and wife Priscilla, Allen Borres and wife Peggy all of Loreauville; daughters, Trinda Michaud and husband Brian of Gonzales, Raevin Percle and husband Joey of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin J. Borres; a son, Chuck Borres; and a brother, Clarence Champagne. Pallbearers include Rickey Borres, Sr., Brian Borres, Sr., Allen Borres, Joey Percle, Mickey Champagne, and Terry Champagne.
