Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge for Rhonda Renee Kirk, 35, who died Friday, December 22, 2006 at her residence in Gonzales. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Rhonda was born on August 16, 1971 in Gonzales. She was a graduate of St. Amant High School in Gonzales and received her degree in elementary education from Southeastern in Hammond, with additional graduate work in education. Her ongoing illness prevented her from realizing her dream and goal of working with and teaching young people. Survivors include her mother and step father, Marian and Dudley Patin of Butte LaRose; her father, James Kirk of Shreveport; her step mother, Ann Kirk of Longview, TX; her fianc, Travis Cumbie; her brothers, Donald Kirk of Gonzales, Todd Kirk and Brian Kirk, both of Longview, TX; her uncle, Bob Parker and his wife, Donna of Robertsville, MO; her aunts and their husbands, Faye and Bill Childers and Betty and Henry Rusk, all of Texas; her great aunt, Irma Parker of Santa Rosa, FL; her very special niece and nephew, Victoria and Matthew Kirk; her step family, Skip and Flo Patin of Henderson, Denise and Doug Perez of Breaux Bridge and Ethel Patin and Joseph Lormand of Gonzales; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Irene Parker of Tallulah, and James and Vera Kirk of Baton Rouge; and her stepbrother and best friend, John Ray Patin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service. Pallbearers will be Todd Kirk, Brian Kirk, Gerald Plauche, Douglas Perez, Tyler Noel and David Patin. Honorary pallbearers will be Skip and Daniel Patin and Doug Perez.
