Richard Babineaux

Coteau - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Richard J. Babineaux, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in Coteau. Entombment will follow in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. Rev. Mario Romero will officiate the service. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Babineaux was born on July 6, 1948 to the late Junius and Lucille Espinoza Babineaux. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served our country during the Vietnam War, and retired from Winn Dixie with over 20 years of service. Mr. Babineaux enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, taking care of his yard, going to the casino, and playing games with his family. Survivors include his wife, Anita McClure Babineaux of Coteau; daughter, Jennifer Chataignier and husband Jeremy of Loreauville; son, Jeremy Babineaux and wife Haley of Loreauville; and brother, Jimmy Babineaux, Sr. and wife Peggy of New Iberia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Villermin, and an infant brother, Johnny Babineaux.
