Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Richard "Richie" Jude Breaux Jr., 40, who passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, in Baton Rouge.
Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 1:45 PM.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Richie was born on August 10, 1976, and was a 1995 graduate of Catholic High. An avid LSU Football and New Orleans Saints fan, he also enjoyed tailgating, cooking, mixing and playing music, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Richard and Jean Murphy Breaux, Sr. of Jeanerette, sister, Becky Ramnandan and husband Rishi of Abbeville; nieces, Kadence Ramnandan of Abbeville, Amber Breaux of New Iberia; aunts, Pat Stein and husband Cliff of Natchez, MS, Connie Bodin of Loreauville; uncles, John J. Murphy of New Iberia, Jim Murphy and wife Cathy of Pittsburgh, PA; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Anthony Breaux; grandparents, Roland and Gloria Breaux, and John R. and Virgie Murphy.
Pallbearers will be Rishi Ramnandan, Mark Stein, Steve Stein, Brennan Trim, Kevin Smith, and Eric Haik.
Honorary pallbearers include D.J. LaBiche and Mitch Pellerin.
