Cecilia - A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Richard Carpenter, 59, who passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Monday. Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Memorial Service. Richard had many hobbies including, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and working on old cars. He loved spending time with his family and was always willing to help others in need. Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tammy Carpenter; sons, Jesse Carpenter (Chelsea Courville), Frank Carpenter, and Mitchell Carpenter; daughter, Katlyn Carpenter; step-father, Victor Credeur; sisters, Amie Jeansonne (Carl), Addie Rose Carpenter, Sally Stelly (Mark), Alidia Cormier (Gerites "Bozo", III), Peggy Williams, Betty Lepine (Freddie) and Rose Murphy (Jerry); brothers, John Credeur, Joseph Credeur (Connie), Rickey Credeur (Shelly) and Edmond Credeur (Kathy); and a grandchild, Chlotille Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Credeur; father, Roy Carpenter; sisters, Agnes Ardoin and Judith Viator; brothers, Joseph Roy Carpenter and Randy Carpenter; niece, Skylar Credeur; and great-nephew, Darren Hebert.
