Richard 'Dickie' Chastant

St. Martinville - A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Saint Martinville, for Richard "Dickie" Chastant, 72, who passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville from 8:30 am until 10:45 am on Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Wednesday. Rev. Buddy Breaux will officiate at the memorial service. Readers will be Brenda Stevens and Gayle Thorne. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Dickie worked for William-McWilliams, Amy Floor Covering and Cornerstone Village South for the past 18 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Guidry Chastant of Lafayette; his daughters, Gwendolyn C. Toucheck of Scott, Debbie C. Oubre and husband Keenan of Garland, TX, Connie C. Theriot of Lemitar NM, his brother, Norman Chastant of Loreauville, his sisters, Jackie Sandoz of New Iberia, Margaret Broussard of New Iberia, his grandchildren, Tara Stubbs, Fallon Toucheck, Casey Toucheck, Shelby Oubre, Danielle Oubre, his great grandchildren, Phillip Leger, Harlie Holland, Chloe Stubbs, Kayden Toucheck, Amair James, Dillan Leger. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Chastant, mother, Felicie Bourgeois, brothers, Warren Chastant, Raymond "E-Boo" Chastant, his sisters, Loretta Chastant Prados, Katherine "Kat" Chastant Watkins. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 112 New Market St., is in charge of arrangements.
