Richard Benedict Chatelain, Jr.

Breaux Bridge - Richard Benedict Chatelain Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at his residence. Richard was born August 9, 1953 in New Orleans. He honorably served in the United States Navy. Richard owned and operated Chatelain's Furniture Clinic in Chalmette for 27 years. He was a master craftsman and could repair or refinish any project. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a Saints Football fan, enjoyed fishing, and just being with the ones he loved, his family. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda Herman Chatelain; son, Richard "Rick" Chatelain, III; daughter, Sherri Chatelain; sister, Deborah Smith and her husband Dennis; grandchildren, Morgan Chatelain, Aidan Chatelain, and Maci Chatelain; nephew, Daniel Smith; and niece, Christina Smith. He is also survived by his Aunt Dorothy Woodruff-Graf and Aunt Lynne Hardouin Chatelain, and all the cousins; and his sisters-in-law, Diane Grove and Anita Herman.
