Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Richard John 'Dickie' Hebert, 84, who died on Friday, January 6, 2012 in Lydia . Entombment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, in Patoutville. Msgr. Jace Eskind will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 7809 Weeks Island Road in Lydia . Born on July 24, 1927 in Weeks Island , Mr. 'Dickie' retired from Morton Salt Company with 46 years of service. An avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, LSU Tigers, and New Orleans Saints, he enjoyed singing, fishing, and most of all taking care of his family. For over 61 years, Mr. 'Dickie' loved selling cars for Robin Motors. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marguerite Lasseigne Hebert of Lydia; son, Gene Hebert and wife Denise of New Iberia; daughter, Susan Hebert Broussard and husband Edward of Baton Rouge; sister, Linda Palmer of Lydia; 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Broussard and wife Lori, Kent Broussard and wife Denise, Amy Broussard, Amanda Alvarez and husband Ryan, Megan Hebert Munnerlyn and husband Casey, Genna Hebert Wazenkewitz and husband Alex, Sarah Hebert; great grandchildren, Dustin, Drake, and Dominic Broussard, Jacob Reed, Madeline and Camille Cancienne, Carter Hebert, Jackson Wazenkewitz, Sadie Sue Alvarez, and Lily Munnerlyn. He was preceded in death by his parents Emar and Olinda Hebert; and a brother, Raymond Hebert. Pallbearers will be Michael Robin, Lawrence Sherville, Dustin Broussard, Drake Broussard, Gary Palmer, Jacob Reed, Kent Broussard, and Jonathan Broussard. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Ronald Pavy, Kirby Hebert, Mark Broussard, Alex Wazenkewitz, Casey Munnerlyn, Ryan Alvarez, ;and Michael Segura.
