Richard "Ricky" Dale Romero

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson, for Richard Dale "Ricky" Romero, 56, who passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Henderson from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue at 7:00 am until 9:45 am on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Alphonse Thianse will officiate at the Funeral Service. Ricky was a member of the Jockey Association and was a jockey and a horse trainer by trade and also worked in the oil field industry. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and loved to barbecue, but he especially loved spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs. He is survived by his mother, Eula Mae Degeyter Romero of Lafayette; his fiance, Anna Schoenfelder of Henderson; four sisters, Cheryl (Carol) Mouton, Patricia (Lynn) Trahan, all of Lafayette, Elizabeth Romero of Breaux Bridge, and Roblyn Romero of Sunset; and three brothers, Patrick Romero, Todd Romero, both of Lafayette, and Keith Romero of Parks. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Robley Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Vice, Daniel Vice, Beau Gautreaux, Ben Gautreaux, Timothy Trahan, Ty Trahan, David Mouton, Devon Romero, and Justin Romero.
