Richard Joseph Theriot, a beloved father, son, brother, and grandfather will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Richard's life was filled with moments of joy and love that he shared with his family. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country with honor.
Richard's passion for life was evident in his various hobbies and interests. He found peace in riding his beloved Harley-Davidson bike, watching his grandchildren excel in sports, and competing in games of pool and bingo. In his youth, he dedicated himself to the study of karate, earning every color belt-a testament to his dedication and tenacity.
As we gather to remember Richard and honor the life he lived, let us reflect on the joy and love he shared with all who knew him, along with his witty personality and smart-quick-witted responses to everything someone said. May his memory live on in our hearts as we cherish the moments that were fortunate enough to share with him.
He is survived by his daughters, Jenna (Brandon) Benoit, Jade Guidry, and their mother, Kelly Guidry; sons, Ryan Theriot and Jordan Theriot; parents, Leroy and Verlie Johnson Theriot; sisters, Helen (Gerard) Baudoin and Karen (Hank) Girouard; grandchildren, Nevaeh Southern, Brooklyn Benoit, Bryken Benoit, and Kullen Guidry; brother-in-law, Ronnie White; godchild, Haley Willem; a host of nieces and nephews; and his fur buddy, Luke.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Laura White; maternal grandparents, Wilbert and Hazel "Mommit" Johnson; and his paternal grandparents, Lucien and Emmerit Theriot.
