Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks for Rita Brown, 75, who passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Camelot of Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Nicholas DuPre' will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a lifetime parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church in Parks and also a member of the Rosary group. Rita loved going to the casino, dancing, and spending time with her family - she was so proud of them. She was an avid Saints fan and loved watching football. Rita will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Brown, Jr.; son, Joseph (Rashonda Davis) Brown, III; daughters, Denise (Troy Batiste) Brown, Amanda (Fred Williams, IV) Brown and Fantella (Kevin Brooks) Brown; brothers, Howard Morris, Charles Morris and Paul Morris; grandchildren, Destiny Danielle Brown, Devin Brown, Sr., Dylan Brown, Danaya Zeno, Daniel Zeno, Jr. and Kaven Brooks; great-grandchildren, Chaz Perrodin, Jr., Caine Perrodin, Devin Brown, Jr., Denim Brown, Demi Brown, O'Shea Jacquet and Karson Batiste; godchildren, Charlotte Patton and Rita Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Morris, Sr. and Gussie Charles Morris; brothers, Albert Morris, Jr. and Horace Morris, Sr.; and sisters, Corrine Morris and Emily Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Devin Brown, Sr., Daniel Zeno, Jr., Albert Morris, Travis Lewis, William Lewis, Jr. and Chaz Perrodin, Sr.
