Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Rita Marie Castille, 78, who passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Opelousas General Medical Center in Opelousas.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Rev. Keenan Brown, Pastor of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, will conduct the services. Crystal Robin will read at the service. Gift bearers will be Catina Theriot, Natasha Tabor and Crystal Robin.
Rita enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, playing bingo, playing boo ray, eating boil crawfish, reading, working crossword puzzles and having visitors. She was a member of the Arnaudville V.F.W. Post 5153 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, James Robin and his wife, Janice of Arnaudville; her daughter, Betty Robin Lopez and her husband, Ramiro Lopez, Sr. of Moses Lake, WA; her brothers, Viorus Fra Olivier and his wife, Rose of Grand Coteau and Burton Olivier and his wife, Shirley of Arnaudville; her sisters, Helen Richard of Port Barre and Elsie Guidroz of Arnaudville; her special niece, Mary Daisy Melancon of Arnaudville and her god sons, Johnny Robin of Lafayette and George Miller of Arnaudville; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Senie Olivier and Regina Arnaud Olivier; her 2nd husband, Elie Castille; her sons, Jessie P. Robin, Sr. and Gerald Rizzle Robin; her brothers, C.J. Olivier and Larry Olivier; her sisters, Rena Olivier, Joyce Robin and Etta Miller.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Donny Lopez, Donny Robin, Terry Tabor, Anthony Robin, Jude Robin and Daniel Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Storm, Landon and Damien Robin.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
