Rita Guilbeau

Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11 a .m. , on Saturday, September 18, 2010 , at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Rita Boudreaux Guilbeau, 84, who passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Camelot of Broussard. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Fr. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Mrs. Guilbeau was a wonderful cook who loved to prepare Sunday dinners for her family to get together and enjoy - those times they spent together created lasting memories that they will always treasure and never forget. Survivors include two daughters, Elsie Guidry of St. Martinville, and Alice Smith and her husband, Tommy, of Broussard; one son, Lester Joseph Guilbeau, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn of Morton, Mississippi ; 14 grandchildren; 1 step granddaughter, and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Joseph Guilbeau, Sr.; a daughter, Jane Guidry; her parents, Homer and Edmonia Albert Boudreaux; and several brothers and sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7 a .m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Elmer Guidry, Jr., Trey Smith, Shane Guilbeau, Kane Guilbeau, Charlie Theriot, and Jonathan Poche. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337.332.2111), is in charge of arrangements.
