Robert Andre'

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Robert Thomas Andre', 88, who died on Monday, December 3, 2012. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Tonious Carter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 10:30 AM until 2:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A native of New Iberia, Mr. Andre' was born on August 6, 1924 to Pierre and Emma Sieber Andre', and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, proudly serving our country during World War II. His career was his passion, having worked for 68 years as a mechanical engineer. Mr. Andre' was employed as vice president of JL Engineering, now Cameco, for over 30 years, and then worked for Bayou Pipe Company for many years following. He also enjoyed steam engines. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Sanders Andre' of New Iberia; children, Mark Tanner of New Iberia, Preston Tanner of Summerville, North Carolina, Paige Tanner of Houston, Texas, and Greg Tanner of Houston, Texas; brother, Richard Andre' of New Iberia; nephew, Doug Warren of Dallas; and 2 grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Rosemary Dancause and Laura Gaspard who were like 'Angels', for their extraordinary care and compassion. Also, the family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their care and support during their time of need.
