Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Hope Chapel, 1797 Declouet Hwy., Breaux Bridge, LA for Robert Paul Charpentier, Sr., 55, who passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cut Off, LA.
Reverend Bob Woods will conduct the funeral service.
Robert was a cowboy at heart who loved the outdoors. He was a Pirate on the tug-boat known as "Capt. Charp." "To know him was to love him," he was a wonderful husband and dad who was loved by all.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Benoit Charpentier, of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Robert Charpentier, Jr., of Houma, James Baird, Jr. and David Baird, both of Breaux Bridge; five daughters, Tressie Allen and her husband, Doug, of Raceland, Rebecca Charpentier, of Mermentau, Chasity Pellegrin and her husband, Eddie, Sr., of Houma, Jodie Orgeron and her husband, Malcolm, and Karine Mestayer, all of Breaux Bridge; three brothers, Tommy Charpentier, Elfer Charpentier, Jr., both of LaRose, and Dickie Charpentier, Sr., of Hathaway; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Marie Guidry Charpentier
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be James Baird, David Baird, Richard Daughtry, Robert Charpentier, Jr., Eddie Pellegrin, and Elfer Charpentier, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dickie Charpentier, Sr. and Eddie Pellegrin, Jr.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
