Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel ?in Breaux Bridge, for Robert ""Slinger"" Joseph Fletschinger. Deacon Harris Bergeron ?of St. Bernard will conduct the services. Robert ""Slinger"" Joseph Fletschinger, age 55, departed his life on Saturday, August 18, 2007, at 12:03 a.m. in Breaux Bridge, where he resided since Hurricane Katrina. ?He was native of New Orleans and resident of St. Bernard Parish (Chalmette) for 30 years. ?Robert was employed by the United States Post Office for the past 36 years. Beloved husband of 30 years to Frances Southerland Fletschinger of St. Martinville; dedicated father of Louis Peter Rice of Duson, Amy Frances Rice of St. Martinville and Danette Rae Rice of Chalmette; proud grandfather of Bruce Wayne, Derrick Hale and Brett Michael Chappell; Kerri Michele, Michael David and Devan Lael Paramore; Chaz Joseph Arias, Zachary Robert and Gabrielle Frances Rice. ?Great grandfather of Aubree Rae Wetzel; father in law of Vita Arias Rice. ?Also survived by 2 brothers, Ron Fletschinger of Slidell and Otto ""Buddy"" Fletschinger of Tennessee; 2 sisters, Joan F. Hendricks of New Orleans and Linda F. Lusk of Slidell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lola Theil and Otto Fletschinger, Sr. and his sister, Barbara F. Boudreaux.
