Robert Hardy

St. Martinville - Mr. Robert Gabriel Hardy, 71, passed away at his home on Friday, June 7, 2013. Mr. Hardy, who was born in Arnaudville, Louisiana on August 5, 1941, was a Vietnam era veteran, having honorably served his country in United States Air Force from February 11, 1963 until his honorable discharge on June 7, 1966. He was a member of the Jaycees and helped start La Grande Boucherie des Cajuns. He enjoyed a good movie and was an accomplished storyteller. He is survived by his son, Stephen Dugas Hardy and his fiance, Amy Bowman, of St. Martinville; his daughter, Sonya Lynn Hardy Bonin and her fianc, Patrick Haynes, of Addis; his brother, Donald, and his wife, Rita Knott Hardy, of Arnaudville; three sisters, Lucy Hardy Frederick and her husband, Donald, of Arnaudville, Lona H. Bernard of New Iberia, and Dixie Huval and her husband, David, of Lafayette; two grandchildren Jude and Paige Bonin; and one great grandchild, Nash Boggs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Mazie Dugas Hardy; and his grandson, Dylon L. Boudreaux. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
