Robert "Sammy K" Mallet, Jr.

Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, for Robert "Sammy K" Mallet, Jr., 67, who passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 10:15 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Kenneth Domingue will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Shirley Sonnier and Brandy S. Mallet. Gift Bearers will be Robert Mallet, IV and Myra Lovenia Mallet. Interment will follow at St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. He loved working with his animals in the yard and spending time sitting out on the porch. He especially loved his retired life of being at his all-time favorite spot, Shop Rite at the Frisco. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his companion, Caroline Jones of Port Barre; his son, Robert Mallet, III of Leesville; his step sons, Elijah Mallet and Leonard (Tammy) Jones, all of Port Barre; his step daughters, Lydia (Kenneth) Jones of Opelousas and Cleopatra (Dennis) Jones of Lafayette; his sisters, Julia Mallet of Port Barre and Coretha (Richard) Gray of Lake Charles; his brothers, Albert (Linda) Mallet of Killeen, TX, Alton Mallet of Opelousas, and Donavain (Georgia) Mallet, Sr. of Port Barre; his grandchildren, Tatyana, Robert IV, and Tylan; his step grandchildren, Brittany, Trinity, Anthony, Damian, Adrian, and Patrick; his step great-grandchildren, Jace, Braden, and Kyleigh; and his extended family, Mr. Raymond Hargroder and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mallet, Sr. and Aline Chenier Mallet; his brother, Peter Mallet; his sister-in-law, Mae Hardy; maternal grandparents, Maurice and Cora Smith Chenier; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Lillian Thomas Mallet.
