Robert, affectionately known by many as "T-Pop", "Popsicle" and "Pop" was a man who embraced life to the fullest and had an unparalleled ability to spread joy and laughter wherever he went.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Robert honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he had a successful career as a welder alongside his good friend, Wilson Taylor, and his brother, Ronald Taylor, before transitioning to the Louisiana Department of Transportation, from which he eventually retired.
Robert's passions were deeply rooted in his love for the outdoors. Whether riding around the levee, enjoying time at the family camp, or playing bourre, he found great joy in being with friends and family. He was an avid hunter and a talented cook, known for his catfish courtbouillon and turtle that brought everyone together. The cherished family gatherings and Boucheries were highlights of his life, filled with laughter, storytelling, and love.
Robert's playful nature made him a delightful presence in every room. He had a unique talent for uplifting spirits, constantly clowning around and bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. He was always canaille and never met a stranger.
As Robert would say, "See ya later alligator, after while crocodile."
He is survived by his daughters, Naomi Credeur (Terrell Savoy) and Chelsea Taylor; former wife, Brenda Theriot; brothers, Wilson Taylor (Ann), Ronald Taylor (Jackie) and Carl Taylor; sisters, Shirley Melancon and Cheryl Knott (Randy); and his grandchildren, Marissa Credeur and Olivia Credeur.
He is preceded in death by his father, Evans "Frere" Taylor; mother, Bunice Robin Taylor; and brother-in-law, Brent Melancon.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home staff and residents for their 17 years of love, friendship and care.
