Robert "Pastor Bob" Woods

Lafayette - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Crossroads Church (150 Verona Drive, Lafayette, LA 70507) in Lafayette for Robert "Pastor Bob" Woods who transitioned from Earth peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2019, at the age of 85. His spirit and soul were picked up by Jesus from his home in Breaux Bridge where he was surrounded by his family and friends. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Crossroads Church from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday. Donna Dark will officiate at the service. Interment will follow at a later date. Brother Bob retired from Western & Southern Life Insurance. He went on to serve as the Chaplain for St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office from January 2005 - April 2016. Brother Bob was also the Emeritus Pastor of Hope Chapel in Breaux Bridge, which was founded in 2007. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association: Riding for the Son. Brother Bob's greatest mission in life was spreading the Lord's word...which he did every chance he had. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Glenn Rae Este Wood; daughters, Donna Mayard and husband Brian, Patricia Barras, Karen Hebert and husband Wayne, Faye Taravella, and Rebecca Lasseigne; step son, Larry Este; 13 grandchildren, Jamie, Dawn, Christina, Andrea, Jessica, Aaron, Lenny, Lauren, Victoria, Hunter, Shelby, Johnny, and Matthew; 11 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Louise Couvillion Woods; stepdaughter, Desiree Thibodeaux; brothers, Donald, LJ, and Samuel "Sammy" Woods, Sr.; and his late wife, Doris "Dot" Macaluso Woods. Pallbearers will be Aaron Taravella, Alex Chabert, Wayne Hebert, Hunter Thibodeaux, Matthew Thibodeaux, and Larry Este. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
