Roderick "Wildman" Kidder

Cecilia- A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Roderick "Wildman" Kidder, 76, who passed away on January 10, 2025 at his residence.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.

Deacon Perry Guidry will officiate at the funeral service. Reader will be Shawne Taylor.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Roderick, known to many as, "Wildman," was born on July 28, 1948 in Arnaudville. He honorably served his country in the Army/National Guard, and he was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Cecilia. His dedication to service continued throughout his professional life as he worked on the railroad and at St. Martin Sheriff's Department in public relations. Known for his love of family and Cajun music, Wildman enjoyed spending Sundays at Pats, surrounded by loved ones and friends. He will deeply be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Desoto Kidder; daughters, Rachael Kidder and Renaye Delino and her husband, David; one grandchild, Tristan Arnaud; and his sister, Cheryl Collins and her husband, John.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Landry Kidder; and his parents, Wilson Kidder and Georgie Stelly Kidder.

Pallbearers will be David Delino, Tristan Arnaud, Ben Clay, Michael Theriot, John Earl Stelly, and Lloyd Melancon.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and his caregiver, Lisa Marie Guidry for the excellent care and compassion given to Roderick.
