New Iberia - Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Rodney James Dore', 65, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, after an extended illness. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Deacon Durk Viator will be the Officiant. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Sunday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 12:00 pm on Sunday. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Rodney was born on April 26, 1953, and was a 1971 graduate of New Iberia Senior High. He worked in the oilfield most of his career, and also worked in sales. He had a compassionate heart and was a friend to all, lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He lived his life as he chose. Rodney is survived by his mother, Ella Mae Bott and husband Jim; sisters, Vicki Cuccia and fiance Russell Sandridge, and Jo Ella Dore' Richardson and husband Michael; brother, James David Bott and wife Lainie; daughter, Alicia; and granddaughters, Kaylee and Heidi. Rodney touched the lives of all family members, including nephews, Jason Short, Shane Richardson, Jared Cuccia, and Austin Bott; nieces, Nicole Rebstock and Lindsey Bott, and their families; as well as many friends who were a part of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dore infant brother, Troy (1965); and all of his grandparents. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Rodney's nephew, Jason Short, and a special family friend, Warren "J.W." Gachassin, Jr. for their love, caring and support during this difficult time.
