Rodney James Hart

New Iberia - Private services will be held at a later date for Rodney James Hart, 66, who died on Tuesday, on January 14, 2025. 

 Rodney was born on August 29, 1958, to the late Daniel Hart, Sr. and Fannie Mae Jones Hart. He had a passion for fishing, spending countless hours by the water's edge, where he found tranquility and contentment. Rodney dedicated many years of his life to serving his community, working in maintenance and housekeeping at a hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi.  He spent many years in Gulfport before returning to Louisiana, where he felt at home among the familiar landscapes that held countless memories. Although he did not have children of his own, his heart was always open to his nieces and nephews, with whom he shared a special bond. 

Rodney is survived by siblings, Cora Darlene Henry, Ella Hart, Herbert Hart (Clara), Alaine Jones (Arthur), Robert Hart, Jerome Hart, Clayton Hart, and Sandra Hart; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Hart, Jr.
